I have just made the cow. The pattern is definitely for someone who has a bit of experience with crocheting animals. Some of the instructions could be in a little more detail. I would recommend adding all the hair to the rounds on the body before you attach the head otherwise its is a real challenge getting the hook into the front loops.
I used 8 ply acrylic - it would probably be better in wool, but unsuitable for Queensland with wool moths. I added 2 strands of yarn for each hair loop. In retrospect you could get the same colour yarn in 10 or 12 ply and only need to add one to cover the body underneath. I did think the construction of the body was different but worked extremely well. I guess I'm used to making Amigurumi.
Hi Nicole, thank you for your detailed feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the pattern and appreciate your tips on construction and materials. Your experience with amigurumi certainly shines through. Happy crocheting and thanks for sharing your thoughts!
