Garden Dalliance Sampler Book

A garden of quilts and cross stitch, waiting for your own colours.

Some books make you want to clear the sewing table and begin. Garden Dalliance Sampler by Shelley Cavanna brings together flower-filled patchwork and the pleasure of cross stitch, with 20 quilt blocks, six quilt projects and six coordinating cross-stitch patterns to explore.

If you love the quilt on the cover, there is plenty more to discover inside. Work towards the full Garden Dalliance sampler, enjoy a different arrangement of the blocks, or settle into one of the smaller cross-stitch projects. It is a collection you can return to as your time, confidence and colour choices change.

Six quilts, six ways to enjoy the garden

The Garden Dalliance Sampler brings all 20 blocks together in one richly detailed quilt. Five further quilts explore different combinations: Indigo Garden, Parlor Secrets, Hedgerow, Evening Assembly and Midnight in the Garden. Floral shapes and geometric motifs give the designs their lovely cross-stitch-inspired character.

Matching projects for your stitching basket

Each quilt has a companion cross-stitch project. Alongside stitched samplers, the collection includes pincushions, a bookmark and a three-dimensional biscornu pincushion. Choose a smaller finish between quilting sessions, or make coordinating pieces for your home or a thoughtful handmade gift.

Beautiful to browse, useful at the sewing table

Shelley, the designer behind Cora’s Quilts and author of Barn Star Sampler, combines visual instructions, essential techniques and colour photography. The publisher rates the book for all skill levels, including makers beginning their quilting or cross-stitch journey.
