Brown Weave adds a warm brown colour and an embossed woven effect to your bag making. The texture gives a simple panel something interesting to catch the eye.

• Cut size: one half-yard piece, 18 inches (45.7 cm) long × at least 25 inches (63.5 cm) wide.
• Thickness: approximately 1 mm.
• Composition: 50% polyurethane (PU), 50% polyester.

Picture a practical tote, a roomy pouch or a journal cover with a favourite lining inside. Follow your pattern’s construction advice for straps and areas with several layers.

A few sewing tips

Suitable for domestic sewing machines. Start with a fresh 80/12 denim needle and 40 wt polyester thread; try a 2.5–3 mm stitch on an offcut first. A Teflon or roller foot can help the surface feed smoothly. Use clips to hold layers together, as pins leave holes.

Do not iron. Check your pattern for any lining, interfacing or reinforcement required, especially where seams and straps create several layers.
