Choose the needle type first, then choose the size.

Start with what you are sewing: everyday woven fabric, fine or tightly woven fabric, quilting layers, embroidery, denim, stretch or knit fabric, leather, overlocker work or a specialty job. Once you have the right needle type, select the size to suit the fabric weight and thread.

If a needle has a special coating or system—such as Chrome, Gold, Titanium, Super Nonstick, ELX705, BLX-1 or DC-1—that information matters and is shown separately so you can make a confident choice.
